By downloading or using the Calis AI mobile application (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.
Calis AI analyzes workout videos you record or upload and returns automated feedback on your exercise form.
Key features:
Some features require a paid subscription. See our Privacy Policy for details on what we collect and who we share it with.
Calis AI provides automated feedback on exercise form. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for a qualified trainer, physician, or physical therapist. AI-generated assessments may be inaccurate or incomplete. You exercise at your own risk. Consult a healthcare professional before beginning any training program, and stop immediately if you experience pain or discomfort.
You retain ownership of videos you record or upload. Your videos stay on your device; only a small number of still snapshots extracted from them are sent for AI analysis, as described under Video Processing below. You grant us a limited license to process those snapshots solely to provide the service — analyzing form and generating feedback. You confirm you have the right to submit any video you scan, and that anyone recognizable in it has consented.
Do not upload content that is unlawful, sexually explicit, or that depicts a person who has not consented to being recorded.
Scans are limited to 10 per day. We may modify or discontinue features at any time. We may require you to update to a supported version to continue using the app.
Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store and auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel in your Apple ID settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies.
No full-length videos are sent anywhere for processing. Your scan videos never leave your device.
All skeleton and pose detection (body landmark tracking) is processed entirely on-device on your iPhone. This data is not transmitted to us or to any third party.
What is sent: a small number of snapshots (still frames) extracted from the video — typically 2 to 4 low-resolution images per scan. These are sent to OpenRouter, which routes them to third-party AI model providers such as OpenAI (GPT-4.1) and Anthropic (Claude Sonnet), in order to analyze your form and generate your feedback.
To be explicit about the distinction: still snapshots are shared with third-party AI providers to analyze the video; the video file itself is not.
Calis AI uses third-party AI providers — reached via OpenRouter and including OpenAI (GPT-4.1) and Anthropic (Claude Sonnet) — to identify exercises and assess form. By using the app, you agree to:
Our AI providers' own terms of service and privacy policies apply to their processing of your content.
Our Privacy Policy explains in full what we collect and who we share it with. In summary:
You can erase your data at any time via Settings → Log Out & Delete Data. This is immediate and cannot be undone.
All content, features, and functionality within the App are owned by Calis AI or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. This does not affect your ownership of videos you upload.
You may not use our content outside the App without permission.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Calis AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the App, including any injury resulting from exercise performed in reliance on AI-generated feedback.
The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.
You may stop using the App at any time.
Calis AI may suspend or terminate access to the App if required by law or if these Terms are violated.
Calis AI may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
